Privacy & cookies
Your information on this website.
This notice covers jjournal.app, the public website of JJOURNAL BOOK STORE (UEN 53533972X). It describes browsing this website and contacting our team. Data inside JJournal, ExamIQ and Activity Hub accounts is handled separately; ask us if you have questions about it.
The short version
This website is free of visitor analytics, advertising trackers and marketing cookies. Your enquiry draft stays in the open page until you choose to send it by WhatsApp or email.
When you visit a page
Your browser sends connection details, such as your IP address and the page requested, to the services delivering the website. Vercel hosts this site. Hosting and network providers process technical information to deliver pages and protect their services.
Fonts and page images are served with the website itself, so opening a page involves only our hosting provider.
When you prepare an enquiry
Your selected app, topics and note stay in the open page while you type. They reach us only when you send them by WhatsApp or email.
WhatsApp: choosing the WhatsApp button passes the prepared text to WhatsApp so it can open a draft. Our team receives the message only after you press Send.
Email: choosing “Email this enquiry” passes the same text to your mail app. Review the draft and press Send when you are ready. Your mail provider may store drafts according to its own settings.
Once you send a message, our team and the service you choose handle that conversation outside this website. Share only the information needed to answer your question.
Why we use enquiry information
We use the name, contact details and message you send only to answer your questions, discuss an app and arrange any next steps you request, such as a demo or a trial.
Where European data protection law applies, we rely on taking steps you request before a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering ordinary business enquiries. Necessary technical processing helps us deliver a working, secure website. We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-site advertising or make decisions about you using automated profiling.
How long we keep enquiries
Our policy is to delete sales enquiries within 12 months of the last conversation, unless you become a customer or we need them to deal with a dispute. We do this by hand in our email and WhatsApp accounts. You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner.
If you become a customer, we keep the information needed to provide the service, keep required business records or deal with a dispute for as long as those purposes require. Providers may retain backups or technical records under their own policies.
Where information is handled
Our team is based in Singapore. Website hosting, email and WhatsApp providers may process information in other countries. Access depends on the service you use: browsing involves our hosting provider; sending an enquiry involves your chosen email service or WhatsApp and our team.
We aim to limit access to people who need it to answer your enquiry. Sending a message over the internet always carries some risk, so please keep passwords, payment details and sensitive account records out of sales enquiries.
Cookies and tracking choices
The website code uses no cookies or browser storage for tracking, which is why you see no “Accept cookies” pop-up. Technical measures used by hosting or security providers are separate from advertising tracking.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals need no extra step here, because the website runs no advertising or profiling. If we add optional tracking later, we will update this notice and offer any required choices before it starts.
Questions about your information
Email hello@jjournal.net with the subject “Privacy question”. This is our contact for privacy requests. You can ask for access to your information, a correction or deletion, or ask us to stop using it. Depending on the law that applies, you may also be able to ask for a copy in a reusable format or restrict how information is used. We may need to check your identity before sharing personal information.
You can also raise a concern with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission or your local data protection authority. We treat everyone equally, including people who make privacy requests.
For technical records handled by our hosting provider, its privacy information explains its own handling and retention: Vercel privacy.
